Here is my recipe for Sweet and Sour Tofu on Rice – perfect for #MeatFreeMonday and it is Vegan & Gluten-free too. Trust me – it is DELICIOUS.
The secret to making delicious tofu (in my opinion anyway) is to:
1. Drain your Tofu on a kitchen towel
2. Cook in a delicious sauce
3. Bake or Fry it.

This Sweet and Sour version is served over a bed of rice, but you could also serve with noodles.

Sweet and Sour Tofu
Sweet and Sour Tofu
Here is my recipe for Sweet and Sour Tofu dinner – perfect for #MeatFreeMonday and it is Vegan & Gluten free too. Trust me it is DELICIOUS 😍
Servings 2
Ingredients
- 1 400g Firm Tofu Block
- 1/3 cup Maizena cornflour
- 1 tsp salt
- 1 tsp coriander
- 1 tsp paprika
- Oil for frying
- ½ cup Sweet & Sour Sauce
Instructions
- Remove tofu from plastic and allow to drain for 15 minutes on a clean kitchen towel (with another clean Kitchen Towel and pan placed on top of the tofu)
- Slice the block of tofu into four slices and then those slices into three of four chunks. Basically cut into cubes 😊
- Place the tofu chunks into a bowl with the cornflour, salt, coriander and paprika. Toss well so tofu is fully coated in the flour
- Heat a thin layer of coconut or sunflower oil in a pan on medium-high heat. Fry tofu for around 12- 15 minutes, flipping until golden brown.
- 5.Pour over the sauce and heat through for a minute
- Serve with rice, sesame seeds and greens
