These healthy Orange and Chocolate Bliss Balls are delicious little morsels packed with energy and wholesome ingredients.
Also known as ‘Jaffa balls’ (if using orange flavours), or ‘protein balls’, bliss balls are made by combining nuts, dates and coconut. I think the word Bliss must have come from the bright idea of adding cocoa or melted chocolate to these little bites.
Don’t these Orange and Chocolate Bliss Balls look pretty! 😍
They are one of the best snacks to have on hand, especially when we are running around like a crazy person and need a quick on the go snack.
Dates are naturally sweet, so these Orange and Chocolate Bliss Balls don’t contain any extra sugar and if you do coat them in chocolate, I’d recommend the dark variety.
The Orange and Chocolate Bliss Balls
I used gluten-free oats for these bliss balls, but if you don’t have you are welcome to use normal oats. I got my dates from Woolies, you can find them in the fridge section.
For the coatings, the sky is really the limit here – you can use whatever you like, such as melted chocolate, crushed peanuts, desiccated coconut, orange zest or even raspberry powder.
On another note, I have another Bliss Ball recipe up to if you would like to try a completely different flavour using berries.
Remember, everything in moderation – these Orange and Chocolate Bliss Balls do contain healthy ingredients but don’t eat them all in one go 😂 (no matter how delicious)
