Make a Dairy-Free Creamy Coleslaw

Braai Day is around the corner, and you guys requested yummy healthy salads, so here’s my recipe to make a Dairy-Free Creamy Coleslaw.

This creamy dairy-free coleslaw is a classic tasting South African coleslaw, made with dairy-free mayonnaise. It is gluten-free, egg-free and dairy-free too, so everyone can enjoy this creamy summer salad.

What is it about coleslaw that makes a plate of food so tasty?

When I was a kid, whenever we got KFC as a family, I would always eat a tub of coleslaw by myself.

For me, it was better than the fried chicken! The crunchy cabbage, sweet carrots and tangy mayo make me salivate!

I feel like no braai is complete without a good Coleslaw, so I wanted to give this classic a bash.

What is in this Dairy-Free Creamy Coleslaw

Dairy-Free Creamy Coleslaw

To make this salad dairy-free, I have used the B-Well Canola Mayo which is unbelievably creamy, but vegan! I discovered this mayonnaise by accident when the Checker’s I went to didn’t have my usual pick Cross and Blackwell.

It’s extremally creamy and tangy, and I couldn’t believe it was dairy-free! Will definitely be purchasing this canola mayo again.

For the actual salad, I used a combination of red and white cabbage which I think created a beautifully colourful plate, as well as grated carrots. Some people add raisins to their coleslaw, but that’s very weird to me, but you could definitely do so if you wanted to.

Season according to your taste. 😎

Wishing you a Happy Braai Day next week…

Love,

Cat
